“The Ahepa family Charitable Foundation of Canada (AFCFC) mirrors the mission statement of the entire AHEPA Family; which is to promote Hellenism, Philanthropy, Education, Civic Responsibility; family & Individual Excellence. As the primary philanthropic arm of the Ahepa family in Canada, the AFCFC serves the membership by assisting in fundraising efforts, promoting and awarding scholarship, as well as being a point for grants and donations to be used across Canada.

2024 AFCFC SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

 The members of the AHEPA Family in Canada congratulate the winners of the 2024 scholarships in Education, Medicine and Engineering.
  • Nick Logothetis Scholarship in Education for $2000. AFCFC SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
    Sophie Kostakos is from London, Ontario and currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program at Nipissing University. Sophie has been active in the Maids of Athena, and in her community Greek school and Greek dancing both as a participant and as a teacher/coach.  She also volunteers as a soccer coach and in classrooms helping children with diverse needs. According to her references, “she exemplifies leadership, perseverance and commitment to any task she has undertaken”.
  • Dimitriadis Memorial Medical Scholarship of $2000AFCFC SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
    Aliki Karanikas is from Toronto and currently enrolled in the School of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.  She was an executive member on Queen’s Hellenic Student Association and a member of Queens’s Varsity rowing team. Because of personal experiences, Aliki states “that whichever field of medicine she chooses, her priority will always be patient centered care that empowers the individual to make informed decisions about their health”.
  • Aroutzidis Family Engineering Scholarship of $2000 AFCFC SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

    Athanasios Verros is from Vaughan, ON and currently enrolled in the PhD program in Civil Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University. He is the Lead Graduate Ambassador for the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science and an active volunteer with the Hellenic Initiative Canada. His aim upon graduating is “to contribute to developing resilient and sustainable infrastructure that meets the needs of Canadian communities.”
